Tweet I heard the CEO of Swiss America, Craig Smith talk about Obama today. He said something I have thought for a long time. Craig points out that President Obama is probably a decent guy. I agree. If he was your next door neighbor he would probably be a decent guy, most people are. However, that does not stop me from thinking President Obama’s policies towards taxes, big government etc. are bad for business and have shown themselves to be a failure. What business owner would hire people not knowing their tax rate and the actual cost of hiring those employees over the next 2 or 3 years?
Tweet A friend sent this via email. I’m sure many have already seen this as these things get passed around quickly. I’ve done my part. Now do yours. Begin Email: Did y’all see that Diane Sawyer has a special report coming up this week. They removed ALL items from a typical, middle class family’s home that were not made in the USA . There was hardly anything left besides the kitchen sink. Literally. During the special they are going to show truckloads of items – USA made – being brought in to replace everything and will be talking about how to find these items and the difference in price etc.. It was interesting that Diane said that if every American spent just $64 more than normal on USA made items this year, it would create something like 200,000 new jobs! I WAS BUYING FOOD THE OTHER DAY AT WALMART and ON THE LABEL OF SOME PRODUCTS IT SAID ‘FROM CHINA ’ FOR EXAMPLE THE “OUR FAMILY” BRAND OF THE MANDARIN ORANGES SAYS RIGHT ON THE CAN ‘FROM CHINA ‘ I WAS SHOCKED SO FOR A FEW MORE CENTS I BOUGHT THE LIBERTY GOLD BRAND OR THE DOLE SINCE IT’S FROM [...]

Tweet The decline of most empires, now called Super Powers, usually occurs after 300 to 500 years. So, what is it that caused the decline of Great Britain, France, Spain and as far back as the Roman Empire? It was simply over reaching. Sooner or later that which a government tries to control gets too big to control. Is there any parallel going on in America? Many would argue that America was born after historian’s noticed this cycle and never embarked on world domination. Instead, it grew within its own borders having only a few outlying protected zones like Guam, American Samoa, Puerto Rico etc. After all, it was a Big Country with lots of natural resources of its own. There was no need to look elsewhere. Therefore, many believe we will never meet the same fate as empires of the past. Also on our side is the fact that we are a Representative Republic governmentally and Free Enterprise economically to keep us competitive. If you look at what we are doing internally it is beginning to look a lot like empires of the past. Instead of our government seeking to grow to consume foreign territories it is consuming the [...]
