Get rid of Pennsylvania’s school property tax by signing this online petition!

Tweet Help us encourage the governor to make the Property Tax Independence Act his top priority by signing the online petition on my website. We want to show the governor that this issue deserves his attention and support as he outlines his agenda for 2012. To help us achieve this goal, we are collecting online “signatures” from residents all across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to show the governor that this initiative has broad-based public support. Click here to complete the petition. It takes 30 seconds! Please share this post with your fellow Pennsylvanian’s. Here are 10 well-considered reasons to eliminate the property tax, which will benefit the lives of all Pennsylvanians and help to make our Commonwealth an economic powerhouse and a great place to live, work and raise a family. 1. Achieve True Home Ownership You never really own your home as long as it can be taken from you for not paying your property taxes. You’re simply paying rent to the government under threat of eviction. 2. Stabilize School Funding Many school districts are struggling with steep declines in property tax revenues as a result of assessment appeals by home and business owners. House Bill 1776, the Property [...]

Interesting political statement at a Bears game

Tweet “President Obama is going to seek reelection. His slogan this time? ‘Change you can believe in. This time I promise. Really.’” –Jay Leno “President Obama is slated to appear on one of Oprah’s last shows. He’s hoping it’s the one on which she gives away 14 trillion dollars.” –Conan O’Brien “President Obama said regarding the economy, ‘The sky is not falling.’ The poll numbers are falling, the market is falling, support for the war in Libya is falling, Anthony Weiner’s pants are falling, but the sky is fine.” –Jay Leno “The White House said that President Obama will not focus on full-time campaigning for a long time. Yeah, he wants to wait a year or two before he gets serious about it — just like he did with being president.” –Jimmy Fallon “President Obama said in an interview over the weekend that he really misses being anonymous. He said, ‘I miss Saturday mornings rolling out of bed and not shaving, going to the market…’ Be careful what you wish for, 2012 is just around the corner!” –Jay Leno “President Obama’s approval ratings are so low now, Kenyans are accusing him of being born in the United States.” –Jay Leno [...]

Patriotic Millionaires?

Tweet So, this is a collective thing and not an individual thing? Doesn’t that start with one person? After all, the Salvation Army, Red Cross and other charities take donations one at a time. It reminds me of a masochist begging for someone else to spank them. They can’t get off if they do it themselves. Now you know the difference between “rugged individualism” and this crowd. I once heard a joke of sorts. If you won 10 million dollars and had to voluntarily give 2 million of it away to one of the following who would you give it to?: 1. The Red Cross or some other charity. 2. The Church of your choice. 3. The Federal Government. We have yet to find a person who thinks giving money to the government is a good idea. Why? Everyone knows they waste money unlike the other two options. It is not a matter of the government needing more money. The government simply needs to prove they can be responsible with what they have.

WilE Coyote

Tweet Ok, here is the second installment of “the smartest thing I heard this week.” By the way, I hope you have a sense of humor as this may not happen weekly by any stretch of the imagination. An economist on a History Channel show called Prophets of Doom mentioned that America is just like Wile Coyote from the Road Runner cartoon show. We have run off the cliff and we just have not yet noticed there is nothing holding us up. (for those of you too young to remember Road Runner and Wile Coyote click here). Today we topped 15 trillion dollars in debt. Over the next 10 years we are scheduled to add another 9 trillion in debt. That includes debt reduction committee figuring out how to reduce growth by 1.2 trillion over 10 years! Our GDP is less than that. I can’t fathom 1 trillion let alone 24 trillion. At some point people will realize there is no recovering from this amount of debt. What happens next is anyone’s guess. I’m betting on a total collapse of the world economy. That is also what the economist from the History Channel program thinks will happen. We can only hope we are wrong.

The smartest thing I heard in the last week

Tweet The smartest thing I heard in the last week about the Occupy crowd was America’s protestors are among the 1 percent richest people in the world. (note: when you look at this article realize the European Union and Eurozone is not a country. It is a series of countries.) If we follow the Occupy logic then they should give everything they have to the poorer in other nations. They logically won’t be happy until the richest in America are equal to the poorest in a place like Haiti. For a more in depth review on even the poorest in America click here.

Herman Cain’s Accusers thus far

Tweet Long story short it seems that both women who have come out against Cain for some kind of sexual harassment have issues of their own. Karen Kraushaar has had a former supervisor who happens to be a Democrat and no friend of Herman Cain said Kraushaar “doubts her credibility.” Kraushaar’s former supervisor at the INS, who was named in Kraushaar’s complaint, characterized the 2003 complaint to ABC News as “frivolous,” and said Kraushaar may have been offered a few extra sick days as compensation. The supervisor alleged that Kraushaar had a “poor work ethic.” The supervisor, a self-described Democrat, decided to speak out about Kraushaar’s complaint because of “doubts about her credibility Sharon Bialek, a Chicago-area woman, has quite the checkered past. By now most of you know that. The bottom line is thus far this appears to be a smear. I could be wrong but something is rotten in Denmark, or should I say Washington Politics. Had I not had my own personal experience in the military I would take “sexual harassment” more seriously. There certainly have been cases of real sexual harassment and it should not be tolerated. However, when someone misconstrues a comment or someone overhears a conversation or someone sees something [...]

Obama’s Veterans Bill

Tweet OK, I was just sitting here working at my computer with the news on. I hear Obama giving a speech on Vetrans and I’m starting to feel pretty good about it. After all, I did retire after returning from Afghanistan. He was saying some pretty right on things. All of a sudden he goes into a part of his speech simply and gratuitously attacking Congress. It becomes a campaign speech. It made me want to throw up. I had to re-wind it (DirecTV is great) so I could hear it again. I wanted to make sure I was not hearing things. I know my bias is conservative and did not want to over react. “We can’t wait for Congress to do its job.” ??? Why attack Congress over this. They don’t oppose Veterans but they will oppose crap you slip into any bill that spends more without covering the cost. Mr. Obama, I don’t like your Socialist ideas but I thought you were a descent human being. Don’t use Veterans (who are historically conservative in our personal lives as well as politically) as pawns in your re-election. I hope every clear minded military person votes for your opponent whoever it is. Good [...]

Herman Cain – PAontheweb CEO Pick

Tweet Before the Google / FOX News debate I had written Herman Cain off as a potential nominee for the Republican Party. He was my favorite from the beginning just as Mike Huckabee was in 2008. After the debate and winning the Florida Straw Poll I was no longer convinced that my pick could not be nominated. In national polls Mr. Cain is down from his debate and straw poll victory. However, I am reminded by pundits that Rudy Giuliani was leading the pack this time in 2008. What a difference a few months can make! If you have not taken the time to read or listen to Mr. Cain you are missing out on a great thinker and orator. He presents like a President of the United States should. He speaks clearly, not in “political speak” as many other great contenders do. The only exception is Newt Gingrich who says what he thinks without much regard to the consequences. Not a bad trait when Americans are seeking the clear truth. Yes, I like Newt very much as well as Herman Cain. Newt would work out well in the new White House somewhere. He brings forth common sense solutions that most can [...]

Is it Obama or all Democrats or Republicans?

Tweet For the handful of people following the whole debate in Washington on the debt and budget it must be the question many are asking. I hear many ask “how did we get into this mess?” It was not just Obama (although he is the worst), it was not all Democrats and it was not Republicans. It was Americans. Even if you think the Republicans are fiscal conservatives don’t be fooled. Many of them are but not all of them. Bush spent like a drunken sailor and Obama like a manic depressive in the manic stage. You would think Obama’s spending had to do with the recession, war or something of that nature, but that was just a small part of it. He doubled Bush’s drunken sailor spending maybe just to “one up” him. Before you get up on your high horse as a Republican remember, Republicans cannot justify their past spending by pointing to the worst spenders like Obama and the majority of Democrats. It was a combined effort. I call them all “Lazy & Irresponsible Politicians.” All parties knew we were on a collision course with disaster because of over spending but the majority did not have the [...]
